A friend of mine told me about the cardboard shredder a few weeks ago. He purchases this machine to un-clutter his basement. There were years worth of old boxes, news papers, and other documents that had to go. I was in the same situation with my home office. Over the years it had turned into more of a storage area that a real office. Once I saw his machine in action, I knew that I needed one for my home.
Most of my clutter was old boxes and newspapers. It is important to know that this machine is not designed to destroy confidential information. What it basically does is cut the material into strips to save space. This is not something that a business should use to destroy its personal client files. I purchased a bottle of oil and some bags for the large task that I had to do.
I was so amazed at the shredding capacity of this machine. The only work that I had to do was feed the materials through the shredder. I did have to cut down the boxes is to sections that could easily feed through the machine. The feeding area is 15-inches wide. This is large enough to take on any shredding task. It shreds at approximately 25 feet per minute using a 1 hp motor. The motor power is not very impressive, but this is not a machine that most people will use every single day.
